Designed for Attention
Generic apps fail neurodivergent kids because they ignore how their brains process focus. Starlight is built from the ground up to respect and leverage their unique learning styles.
Traditional Learning Apps
- βGeneric curriculum not tailored to interests
- βToo many options overwhelm special needs kids
- βNot designed for sensory sensitivities
Video Platforms
- βPassive watching, minimal learning
- βAlgorithms push inappropriate content
- βAddictive autoplay disrupts routines
Typical Mobile Games
- βHidden ads & in-app purchases
- βToo fast-paced or frustrating
- βNot vetted for special needs
The Starlight Difference
Where Science Meets Play
The "Interest-Bridge" to Learning
Kids with ASD/ADHD engage 5-10x longer when content matches their special interest. We use that focus to teach Math and Reading.
Science of Attention
Attention is a muscle. Our games and quests are designed to build executive function and cognitive stamina without the "rage-quit" triggers.
Evidence-Based Framework
We combine ABA principles with neuro-affirming design. Positive reinforcement is immediate, visual, and highly motivating.
Sensory-Friendly Design
No flashing lights, no sudden sounds, high contrast visuals, and extra-large touch targets for motor planning.
Forgiving Gameplay
Collision detection is extra lenient. We focus on the "Win" to build confidence and lower anxiety around learning.
Built by a Special Needs Parent
Created for a child who loved trains and struggled with school. Now helping thousands of families.
Real Parents, Real Results
Helping every kind of mind shine brighter.
βMy son normally rage-quits games after 2 minutes. He played Dino Race for 30 minutes straight! The forgiving collision detection means he actually succeeds.β
Sarah M. ADHD Mom
βThe Breathing Buddy game has become part of our bedtime routine. My daughter uses it when she feels overwhelmed at school. It's like having an OT tool disguised as a game!β
Michael T. ASD Dad
You Tell Us. We Build It.
Every game on Starlight started with a parent saying βMy child loves...β
βThe Story Behind Starlight
I tried everything β traditional learning apps, educational platforms, video content. My 6-year-old son with ASD and ADHD would lose interest in 2 minutes and have a meltdown when I tried to re-engage him.
The problem? None of these apps featured what he actually loved: steam trains.
So I built him a simple game where he could build his own steam train. He played for 45 minutes straight. No prompting. No meltdowns.

Steam Train Builder
βMy son loves Thomas the Tank Engine but only old-style steam trains.β
ResultBuild your own steam locomotive with coal cars, passenger cars, oil tankers. Now plays 30+ min daily!
Dinosaur Games (3 variations!)
βShe's obsessed with dinosaurs. Can't focus on anything else.β
ResultDino Race, Dino Dig (archaeology), Dino Stomp (cause-effect). 3 games from one interest!
Breathing Buddy
βMy daughter has anxiety meltdowns at school. Need a calming tool.β
Result4-7-8 breathing game with visual cues. Teachers use it in the classroom now!
Coming Next: Helicopters
βWhat about helicopters? My kid doesn't like planes, only helicopters.β
ResultIn development! Rescue chopper game coming soon.
Interest is a Superpower
Generic apps fail because they try to be everything to everyone. A child who loves construction vehicles won't care about generic math games.
But a game about counting bulldozers? They'll play for an hour.
